A couple weeks ago, I put one cam in front of a decoy and staged it with some deer scents. The decoy parts got strewn all over the place by angry bucks, but it was unfortunately off-camera. I wired another cam to a fence post I rammed into the ground in the middle of a tiny pond.

It's so much more interesting if you take a few extra minutes to contemplate an interesting scene to capture on film.

I really think the timing is more important than the scent. I didn't get to this until mid-November, had a couple weeks where the bucks tore the decoy up in short order. Then, nothing. Not a single picture as if they were avoiding the decoy.

I put some Smokey's preorbital gland lure under each eye on the decoy. But again, I don't think scent mattered. Of course, your being scent-free matters.
