Harvested this buck tending a doe Sunday morning with my .45 cal muzzleloader. Sending a payload of Benchmark and 300 grain Parker Match Hunter bullet into his chest at 170 yards. I had the same buck at 50 yards and passed on him opening morning. I quickly regretted that decision.

Quick measurements:
19.5" inside spread
23" and 24" main beams
5.5" and 5.25 bases

Dude, if that's the kind of buck that you even think about passing up cause there's better in the area I need to figure out where you're hunting
That's exactly why I passed him up. There are a couple of studs on the farm. But you don't typically see mainframe 8 pointers that big. I instantly thought... I might regret that decision :D:eek:

I don't know what's more impressive, that buck or you willingly passing him up the first go around!
Congrats!
Thank you!!!.. I made my mind up a few a years ago that if I have a question if I want to kill a deer when I first see him I'll pass. Except this deer, I realized I needed to shoot a mid 140" mainframe 8 point.
