Anybody want to give our picks on records preseason and see how wrong we were after season? Regular season only. Nothing in the post but the record for each team.

Vols 10-2. That's the only one I know enough about to try and predict. Lose a close game at home to the doggies and either Bama on the road or A&M at home. Defense much improved but Milton has at least one Joe of old game where his inconsistency gets us beat.

I know one thing, I hope go up a couple scores quickly on Florida and take there fans out of it early. Night game in the swamp is never an easy task even though we are a way better team currently. That an early season game we must win to set the tone for the season. We can do it though

Ole Miss: 8-4

... but I wouldn't be surprised with 10-2 or 6-6.
Ole Miss has a tough schedule. I don't know anything about their team, but they have to play @ tuscaloser, LSU, A&M, @ UGA, @ Tulane (they are ranked, but I know nothing about them), and @ State (that rivalry is always a hard fought game). It's obviously possible they lose all 6, however unlikely.

I think Bama will go 11-1 or 10-2. Bama has a lot of questions but I think they find the answers. I think they have 5 tough games on the schedule (Texas, Ole Miss, A&M, Tennessee, LSU). I think Ole Miss will be tough because of Lane and Pete Golding both having coached at Bama. Texas will be an early test with and have revenge on their mind. LSU should be good this year.
It's going to be fun year. SEC have a lot of teams that I think are getting better and can bring it any weekend.
My hopeful prediction is Bama goes 11-1 and wins the SEC.
I think Tennessee will have another good year and I think they upset Georgia.

I'll say Vols 11-1 with a loss to Georgia. Bama, FL, SC, and AM will be tough but I'm going to err on the positive side. :)

I figured lossed to Alabama and Georgia.. and losses to 2 of LSU, Arkansas, A&M, or State.

Tulane had a good record last season, but gave up a lot of points. They also never had to face an SEC or Big 10 defense. I think Ole Miss will be at least a 10pt favorite... on the road.

I fully expect the Rebs to crap their pants and lose at least one game they shouldn't. I've gotten used to it.

TN 9-3.

I still suffer from Battered Vol Syndrome.
I drank the orange kool aid Coach Heupel mixed up last year. I have Tennessee 11-1 at best and 10-2 at worst. I only see 3 possible places for losses: UGA, A&M, and @Florida. I am glad we get A&M at home. For some reason I think they are going to surprise everyone this year. All that talent now has some experience and we know Jimbo can coach. Florida will be tough at The Swamp, and UGA is just UGA.

I agree on FL. I'm one who believes that Napier can coach, and last year he had to weed out some players. Hope I'm wrong.

A&M will be interesting. If Jimbo will let Petrino coach, then they could definitely take a step up.

BTW, I'd have to add one more possible loss ......... KY :D !

9-3 for UT

1 loss to the back To the back National champs who finish anther year 12-0, so nothing to laugh at.

bama on the road, again a top 10 team on the road Wanting major revenge. No shame In that loss if the Vols make it a game.

Ky on the road, vols will be coming off from 3 straight hard fought SEC games SC,A&M and bama( in bama) Ky has a bye week before the UT game, and also want revenge after that beat down in Knoxville Last year.

you're that confident about beating the Gumps on the road?

I have many scenarios on how the season can go and most of them are based on which version of Joe we get.

I can see them going 11-1 by beating either Bama in Tuscaloosa, or GA at home. I can also see them losing both those games and either the FL game in the swamp or A&M game at home.

So 11-1 is rainbows and unicorns, and 9-3 is my most likely outcome. I have too many questions about Milton. He has to show me he can be accurate with the ball, because Coach Heup is gonna have those WRs open. Doom and gloom would be 7-5, lets hope that doesn't happen.

I agree with everything you said 100% except the 7-5 part. As far as the Gumps, I think their QB and secondary problems eat them alive and they go 8-4. Obviously my pure, unadulterated hatred for that program factors into my prediction. Nothing would make me happier than to see them lose to Texas, A&M, Tennessee, LSU, and cap it off with a loss at Auburn. Hell, throw in a loss to Ole Miss for good measure. I do realize the Tennessee game in Tuscaloser will be tough. I counted it as an automatic win to annoy a couple alabama trolls. 😅
