any rhyme or reason to size of scrapes? found quite a few today that were just a foot or two in size. I have seen some that are 3-4ft before...

any relation to size of buck to size of scrape? Ideas? Opinions?

I think the larger ones are community scrapes. I usually get pics of more bucks and does there. The smaller scrapes I usually get the same bucks over and over

X2 all sorts of of bucks will check the community scrapes. That's the ones you want to be hunting near!

I wish I knew more about scrapes. I've hunted where there were 40 scrapes visible from my stand and not seen a thing and killed where there were none. I think it's just a matter of where the buck is in his travels and where you intercept him. I've seen scrapes the size of a car hood and I lean towards those being hit hard by several bucks. Sometimes I've found scrapes that started out as several individual scrapes under the same tree that were worked to the point that they all ran together making 1 large scrape. This is particularly true under beech trees. Most scrapes I find are smallish even if more than 1 buck is working them and usually worked at night says all the cameras I've run over them. I've seen bucks work them during the day but mostly young bucks. I've seen older, bigger bucks making rubs during daylight more than I have scrapes. For the most part I've found hunting over them futile. I'd rather find a point somewhere downwind of them and between them and either where I think they may be bedding or there may be concentrations of does.
