Scrape activity

Well, got two deer utilizing the mock scrape I started. The time is near!

Two bucks. still in velvet. One litttle guy and a spike.

The spike stuck around for 20 minutes licking and pawing. Hopefully a bigger one comes in to investigate.

The does come through first. Its 10-15 minutes later the button comes in. Then its an hour or so later the spike comes in. I just used my boot heel, and that "hot scrape" kit thing. Poured a little buck pee in it and had 50 videos in three days.

At this point, it probably has nothing to do with the rut. Ihave had deer hit my mock scrapes in may.

I know. But it is sure nice to see. I wish someone would have done some scentific research on these. I am not banking on the rut, but for more of an idea of what the deer actually do with/at a scrape. Its neat to watch.

What did you do to make your mock scrape as far as putting scent down?

Some code blue buck pee. Along with some of my own.

On what? Mock scrapes? Quite a bit of research has been done on mock scrapes.

Some scrapes will remain active year round, especially the licking limbs!
