I have a lot of deer that come through the backyard. This time of year lots of does, had as many as 25 in the yard at once, but I haven't seen a buck in 2 months, other than buttons still running with their moms. Tonight I had 4 bucks. Two had lost their horns, 1 was a spoke with only one side. But the other was a 4 pt that spent a lot of time here pestering the does back in December. He had both sides.

I think that's the latest I've seen a deer with hard horns before.

I seen two 3 1/2 y.o bucks Monday night in a field with several does. They still had both sides.
Opening day of turkey season in 03 I think I had a 3 ptr come by following 2 does. He had both sides. It was either the 1st or 2nd of April.
That's the latest I can remember.

I saw last week a 120" 8point probably 3.5 with both sides of his antlers. This is in Chattanooga and we have had a really cold wet winter this year here, yes I agree they hold their antlers a lot longer than most people think

I have seen them as late as early april. a healthy deer will carry them until the new growth pushes them off.

Wow, didn't realize they held on until April I saw 2 bucks at Ames during turkey season several years ago in mid-April that already had 6 inches of new growth with splits.

March 28th is the latest I have ever seen bucks with both sides. A couple years ago I saw 5 bucks on the side of the road and all still had both sides, 3 8pts, 1 6pt and a spike.
