Trying to get some info, most people I talk to start catching sauger beginning in March, but have talked to guys that are catching them now. Does the sauger runs go towards or away from Granville? Thanks

don't know about cordell hull but the best sauger fishing below ft. loudon is dec-feb.

Have you fished for them much around there? I'd love to try some of that after deer season. What depths are you fishing typically?

Lots of people fish for them in the flynns lick and roaring river areas which is upstream from Granville. Probably already catching some.

Put in at the Carthage boat ramp and and go up to the dam and drift down to the mouth of the Caney Fork.Try minnows,5" curlytails, and sassy shads.Always stay on or near the bottom.November through April.Good luck.

It all depends on generation below Cordell Hull. If they're really generating heavy, try along the lock wall. Jigging is the best way to go, but I sometimes go with medium sized shiners on a 2-3 ft leader on 1 1/2 - 2oz bottom bouncers. Gotta powerdrift with those to keep 'em standing up and off the rocks. Find the current break and work it.
