I passed on this deer last year and think it may have been shot by a neighbor and died near our line in our CRP field. I bushhogged a few weeks ago and my dad found it today, I hit part of it. I think it's the deer because of the right (looking at pic) G2. What do y'all think?

hard to tell for sure but does look like the same deer. At least you found the skull and have it to keep.

In the live pic it looks like he was trying to grow a g4 on his right side. It's just a bump maybe an eighth of an inch or so but the way you have the skull positioned I can't tell if it's on there

Looks very similar to me, very possibly the same deer. However, it looks like the space between the skull and G1 on the buck's left side looks longer in the bottom picture and the space between the G1 and G2 on the same side looks longer in the top picture than the bottom IMO.

No clue though, hard to tell.

Well I am getting a lot of mixed answers. I would like to know why some say yes and others no. BSK I usually go by a lot of what you say, why do you think it is the same deer?

I'm gunna go with different.. I would need more pics to be certain, but distance from base to g1 appears different. Also distance from g1 to g2 appears diff. I can't be sure but it appears the skull buck's left main beam curls slightly up and I don't see that in the live buck... Very similar deer, but sometimes these standard 8pts can be difficult to compare especially in certain photos..

Although the pictures isn't that clear, the dead buck's rack appears to match the pictured buck. Brow-tines (which are often highly individual) match perfectly, beam curvature is the same, the buck's left (on the right in the photos) G2 is the same. Can't see the right-side points well enough to judge.
