With all this OT I'm working I gonna buy me one
Problem is they are hard to find. Sportsmans Warehouse in S. Haven has 6
In their western stores. 20 dollars shipping from store to store but I hope
It will be well worth it. They say this is an extremely accurate round.
Anybody here have one and possibly some load data?
Thx

I searched it on YouTube only to find some very bad reviews.
I think the caliber is very accurate but the rifle of choice I would pass.

It would be the only bad news I have read regarding the Ruger American line. Check out the basics-barrel length, twist rate, rifling, and then compare to some of the bench-rest rifles. Even see what hornady says, they claim tohave invented the caliber.

Well I bought 1
Got it on line $379 shipped
Buddy at work is a FFL dealer and is getting shipped to him.
So I guess I'll be off to the store where I saw 3 boxes of CM brass
Now to work up a load this close to hunting season
I kno this is a odd ball caliber, but does anybody by chance have a pet load?

Let us know how it shoots.
The 6.5 creedmoor will be my next caliber for my savage. Plan to install an aftermarket barrel next spring.
Good luck, you have a great round.

I would start with 129 Noslers and H4350,,there is no reason if shouldnt shoot plenty good enough to kill deer with,,

120 tsx 40 grains of varget load for 2 of my creedmoor .50 off the lands very accurate deadly on deer longest kill 525 yards

bought a ruger predator 6.5.have not been able to shoot any over 100 yrds but so far factory loads have been pretty much one ragged hole

I reload n hear very good info on the 140 gr bullets.
I got a box of hornady 140 sst I'm gonna try
Gonna try a 140 sierra also
Powder will be h4350 since I got. 9 lbs of it

Got it to range n 41.5 gr of H4350 and a 140 Hndy SST looks like it will be the load for me. Unfortunately my scope crapped out so I put a Leupold VX3 on it. Now to sight it in again. Wanna see what it will do at 600 yds

Where are you shooting?
Glad the Ruger worked out for you.
I'm thinking about a 6.5 Creedmoor criterion barrel for my savage.

Awesome. Most of the end users I am hearing that bought the Ruger America and the 6.5 creedmore have been happy campers.

I shoot at MSSA as much as possible. Live close enough to it to hear shots from it at my house

Not to totally hijack your thread, but is the MSSA worth it? Every hunting season, I lament that I don't have a place to shoot my rifle and I play golf most of the summer. I have several buds that are members.

Is Sgt Major Norris still running the shop? I think his first name is Jim, but to me in high school ROTC, he was Sargent Major.

I think it is worth it
I'm about to start shooting more long range
Plus it's only 5 minutes from my house
Takes me longer to load up than get there

You can't put a price tag on worth if you don't have anywhere else safe to fire a long range rifle. Shooting in a farmers field isn't safe anymore.
It's worth every penny knowing I have a safe place to shoot my pistol, bow, rifle, or shooting long range at the 200, 300, or 600.

I used to go to the place on Walnut Grove Road in Shelby Farms. The only thing good about it was that it was very convenient. When it closed I joined MSSA.

My children are junior members in on my membership. The facilities are very nice. The folks I have met there are (with a few exceptions) just super nice people.

You can shoot all day and no one gives you a hard time. You can take your time for cool downs. Folks understand what a Chrony is. You can yak about hand loads or rifles or militay experience.

Very highly recommended.

Haven't had a chance to shoot long range with it
I'm using H4350 that's what the preferred powder is
I sighted mine it at 100 for deer season, since I got it kinda late
I like the gun and I'm using 140 Hornady SST bullets
Will play with the load after deer season but I am on the 65 Creedmoor site
And there's alot of info regarding that caliber
