Just had one blow @ 50 yards behind me. Must have caught my track. I had figured them coming from the other direction.

I've had 6 does walk by at 10 yards this morning and a pile of turkeys. Could've been back at the house already with a deer in the freezer but I've waited all year for this. I'm going to enjoy it. I love my time with the Lord in his creation.

I quit bowhunting several years ago, the last time I hunted with a bow it was at Prentice Cooper, 93 degrees got eat up by mosquitoes and nearly stepped on a snake, I'll have to wait until the first frost.

Came to the woods this morning expecting to deer and I saw the Squirrel Rut in full effect lol went on like this for about 10-15 mins about 10 yards away

It would have been an excellent morning to be out. Just the right amount of chill in the air when I stepped out on the back deck earlier this morning. Unfortunately, I've working a pair of 12 hr shifts this weekend. My opening morning will be this Monday. Good luck and be safe all. I expect to see some pictures being posted by the end of day.

Tough pass this morning. I've still yet to let an arrow fly on opening morning and that was my only goal this morning. Just wanted to shoot a doe. He was one of those bucks that's just big enough to get my heart pumping a little but not quite big enough for me to not regret shooting him after all is said and done. Maybe I'll get a doe this evening.
