Re-insert the eye and wrap tightly with dental floss then hit it lightly with a flame?

I've done it several times by reinsertng the eye, wrapping with thread, and then putting a coat of super glue on the thread.

You can buy replacement eyes. Rewrap it and then flex coat . I used to build flyrods.' It's not hard and in the age of YouTube. Where are you located?

I do it the red neck way... cut the old wrap off first. Then put the new one on and wrap it with braid. Put a couple drops of crazy glue to hold it. Take me a magic marker to color it what ever color you want. Then I put 2 part epoxy on it to seal it. I have a rod turner but it sets fast enough to just turn it by hand.
