Roads through planted pines...what to plant?

Perhaps this topic has been discussed here before, but I'm seeking recommendations on what to plant in the roads meandering throughout a pretty large stand of planted pines. Because it's very good dirt and for the sake of erosion control, I'd really like to put something in that doesn't need to be replanted annually.

Anyone have any recommendations on what's worked well? What about warm season grasses?
