Fish taste/texture has a lot to do with how it is handled immediately after catching and then how it is prepared/cooked. It's not hard to make an otherwise great tasting fish to be terrible!! I will pass on the fish that have rode around all day in bathtub temp livewell water until they are dead or almost dead...no matter what the species is.

Agreed. My hoat has 2 livewells. I now use neither. Cooler with ice for the ones that will keep. Anything over our number swims again

Oops! But with more than 200 respondents, shouldn't have been a major influence.

Only in my mind because Walleye are the best eating. Smallmouth are most fun to catch

I agree that smallmouth are the most fun to catch. A 3 pound river smallie on 4 pound line and ultralight spinning tackle is a thrill like no other. I have give them plenty of drag for sure. I dont disagree with walleye, i just cant attest because i have never had walleye or sauger
