Had a rear outer cv boot rip. Just going to go ahead and replace the inner too. I'd like to skip the step of knocking the axle out of the cv joints, cleaning/rinsing out. I'll wipe all the grease out that I can and repack with new grease. Given that I only put a hundred or so miles on it a year (light riding), do you think that the life of the cv joints will not be reduced by a 110% cleaning?

It never hurts to keep that stuff clean...atleast IMO it doesnt. I change the grease in my honda's inner boots quite often...mainly cause the original clamp came off and the water hose clamp aint exactly holding it on like it should
