cvc boot replace ?

i have a 1990 suzuki lt 250 that a need to change the boots on.both sides,i bought them off ebay and i need to know how to change them.any body ever done theirs. any pointers thanks

If they are like other IFS suspended wheelers, remove the wheel, remove the CV joint nut and axle bracket and pull the axle out. Cut the clamps off, inspect the CV shafts and knuckles, make sure you clean them very well, re-grease and install new boot. You will need the special pliers to properly fit the new clamps on, they sell these at autozone and stores like that. I have found over the years it is sometimes cheaper in the long run to replace the whole CV axle assembly as they come with the boots allready installed and no rust/dirt or play in the CV joint.

Oh and when pulling the CV axle out it can sometimes be a little tough, a large screw driver or small pry bar and a small 1/4 piece of plywood to protect the carrier can be used to pop it free.
