UT's roster was competitive talent wise. It bears repeating that UT's 2020 roster was the 15th most talented in the country per 247. In fact, UT had the equal (Auburn was #14) or more talented roster in 6 of its 10 games and managed to win 3. By comparison, Rutgers' 2020 roster was the 61st most talented per 247 (Vandy was #54). Rutgers was out talented in all 9 of its games and also managed to win 3, and was a missed FG at the end of regulation from not losing to Michigan in 3 OTs.

I see that ND got put on one year probation for inappropriate contact with recruits outside contact periods, including Kelly getting a photo taken at a recruit's high school on a day contact wasn't allowed. They had some official and unofficial visits take away, $5K fine. Seems like much ado about nothing much.

Punishment may have been worse if ND wasn't still serving its 25 year ban on major bowl victories.

I'll add to this post of caution. ND, UF and aTm are all on probation for recruiting the same guy. One Sa'vell Smalls. Who signed with the University of Washington. Some kids just ain't worth it boys.
