Given the price of the r-25, which one of these guns would be better?

Does the clips from the DPMS fit into the R25? weighing out each gun.. give me some pro's and con's.

Picking one or the other up tomorrow.

I'm not sure..

I like the look of the rem. but I'd like to leave it open sights. And the Rem . doesn't have any sights on it.

trading a 686 classic and 600 bucks for a new R25. but I keep going back to the Panther. ahh

I have the DPMS LR308-AP4. It's a little on the heavy side, mainly due to the factory forend. It is more accurate than most bolt action rifles. If I'm not mistaken there are 3 factory configurations from DPMS and only 1 for the R25. I'd hold and shoulder each one to see which one you like the best.

The R25 looks an aweful lot like an identical twin to this rifle, but this rifle is $500 cheaper.

This rifle has a 16" barrel and the Remy has a 20".

Thanks for the link Model70, I actually want a shorter barrel, so this DPMS may be the ticket. I've shot the R25. just don't know anyone or any gunshop for that matter that has a dpms .308 to hold.

Ive have seen Modle70man's DPMS in action, and shot it a bunch myself, I would get the DPMS and not think twice about it. That gun will shoot ragged holes at 100 yards as fast as you care to shoot it.

Here is a pic of what my DPMS can do at 100 yds. I walked the zero from the bottom right up to the middle. I shot a 3 shot group then adjusted the scope again. Then shot the next several rounds one after the other fairly quick maybe 1 or 2 seconds between shots. They can flat out shoot.

DPMS builds both guns. DPMS, Remington, Bushmaster, are old owned by the same company. The R-25 is configured more for hunting, but is more expensive and comes (I beleive) with one 5-rd magazine where the DPMS guns come with 2 19-rounders. Both are quality guns. DPMS builds pretty good .223 guns, but their .308 guns are excellent.
