Wondering if anyone has tried one of these yet. Entertaining the idea of acquiring one this off season. Just wondering what they were like and if it's worth the extra $. Thanks

I take it that you are talking about the new Ultimate muzzleloader, if so not sure as I have not had any experience with one of them.

Well, the Rem Ultimate action is basically a Rem 40X action. It has locking lugs and its a form 4733 rifle if that matters. I think what you should really ask yourself is how much are the primer modules and how many shots can i get from each one. Using one just a little too long will gas cut the breach plug. Once its gas cut it will ruin any more modules you shoot.

The laminate stock looks like a Boyds to me and i think the composite version is a lower end B&C stock. Not a bad price really when you can find them on sale. Ive seen them as low as $750. Full MSRP is a bit high but not awful either. You can pretty much buy any of the typical Rem700 CF upgrades for it. Thats always a big plus.

They make a pretty nice base for a custom smokeless build too.
