i have two rem 700 rifles and handload also i 2 of the 3 shots will be touching and always kicks the other out i have repeated this group several times on both rifles any body got any sug?

You letting the barrel cool down? You check to see if the barrel is floated? When you say it kicked it out, how far? If it is happening on both rifles, have you let someone else shoot it?

Bullet seating depth is what it sounds like to me.
Either that or you're flinching and don't know it.

I have a 700 in 3006 that used to do this until I had barrel floated and I had another one that the sling swivel stud was coming thru the stock and touching the barrel. Both of these the problem was easily corrected.

+1 free float the barrel and bed the action. There is a pressure point on the factory stock on the forearm that is causing the barrel harmonics to shift.

If your shooting at 100 yards, sounds to me like you got a couple guns that will shoot under 1" @ 100. Pretty good shootin'. ;) I once had the same scenario and after checking everything over and over...it came down to bullet weights. Some were 3-4 grains off their target weight.

Make sure there are no hot spot between the barrel & stock, also make sure your doing everthing the same, are you touching the barrel with your fingers or hand to make the other bullet fly different. Just my .02 cents.
