I loaded some 130 grain Barnes TTSX over some Ramshot TAC for my boys .308.

For fun I loaded up some of the 130 grain TTSX in .30 06 over Accurate 4064. I am going to test this week but load data shows potential for 3200 FPS.

I've heard folks say the 130 grain Barnes in .30 06 kills deer like lightning.

Anyone load these in 06?

Being a Nosler fanatic I have not tried that weight in an 06.

I have tried 120's in our 280....and 7mm08....don't like results...Flyers...thinking jump is awfully critical--coupla thousandths difference in seating may be in play. You have standard 1:10 twist, 22 inch barrel? Primer type?

22" barrel on my Tikka 06 but it's a fast barrel. I get only 50 FPS loss compared to data on a 24" barrel. 1:11 twist. Federal 210 large rifle primer.

As fas as jump I loaded them to the COAL in the Barnes data sheet at 3.240. The throat is long enough on my 06 I would be outside Mag length if I tried to get 0.030 or 0.050 off lands. I want a magazine Fed repeater as a hunting rifle.

The quickest I've ever seen a couple bucks die was with 125gr corelokts in .308 and 30-06. I'm not sure what the difference was but the lighter bullets killed em without even a leg kick,

I've been loading the 130 grain ttsx in a .308 for a long time now and it's a great load. I've killed lots of deer and hogs with it and plan to use it for elk next year. A few years ago, I loaded a light .308 load topped with 110 gr ttsx for the kids and it too is a great load. It's easily a 250 yard load with light recoil. Max it out and it's even better. Even on a max 110 gr load, the recoil is noticeably lighter than the 130 and it kills as well as anything.

I am getting 3200 FPS with the Barnes TTSX out of my Tikka 06. SMOKING fast and it will definitely be a killer at typical ranges.
