I might go buy some PVC and a rope, cut the PVC with angle at the bottom so I can tap it into the ground, and take it with me when they cut the cornfield. Then I can just set it up in the middle of the field, with a decoy or two, and not worry about the real power line which is so close to the road I can't shoot birds on the other side of it. Think it's worth trying? I really hope this corn is cut in the next week or two. If not I will keep hunting it the way I have been.

get a short black iron pipe that the pvc can go into, cut 1 end so it can be hammered into the ground.get some tee's & make branches to set doves on.dont glue all of it together so you can take it apart & not hang out the back of the truck, also throw some black/brown paint on it,you never know until you try it lol

I may try the T bar instead, seems more simple and easy to assemble, and easier to place decoys on a solid bar than a rope. I will just do the stake in the ground, then the PVC pole on that, and then a cross bar maybe 5 or 6 ft wide to go across the top of the pole and put doves on that.

if you have a private field, build your own fake lines with old power poles and cable it works great.that way they can use it all year.we used 3 poles and 250ft. of 1/2"cable right threw the middle of the field it is like a bird magnet
