Has there ever been a season with so many fans rushing the field at the end?

From memory:
TN
LSU - 2x
South Carolina - 2x once at Clemson
Vanderbilt- if you want to call it "rushing"
A&M (did it before game over)
Florida St after beating Fl

I'm sure there are others.

Let em storm the field. Same with the celebration in the end zone for the players, let em enjoy the game and the wins.

I agree. There's really no way to stop it.

But, I do see the other side of the coin with the mental anguish that can result with the fear created for opposing players and coaches.

I'm sure years of therapy will ensue, if not jail time, if they happen to act irrationally when a terrorizing coed might suddenly appear.

Nothing says class like cutting up your own field and selling it on Ebay. :)

Who said he did not care???? I bet she will think twice if she ever decides to storm a field again. Not likley she will get that chance LOL
Wow, i dont care who you are or what team you pull, this is not even remotely right. We never heard anything from Saban after his little "he was scared" statement. As for the girl that got hit i really hope she brings charges against Burton. If it had been anyone other than a football player and anywhere else other than the field, he would have been arrested for assault. And dont even start with the she shouldnt have been there crap either. I guarantee if it was your wife, daughter, girlfriend, or family member you would have a take on the situation, and dont bless me with a "they wouldnt think of doing that". Every fan base has people over the top but your statements show exactly what kind of fan you are.

Put yourself in her shoes. Will she think twice before she storms a field again when she knows there is a chance someone will react that way? Insert any team , any player out there. Just sayin. She will think twice about it.

Thats the problem, she shouldnt have to think twice about getting assaulted because he shouldnt have hit her in the first place. Let see how the PAC 10 and Oregon Ducks handle their player assault from this past weekend.

I personally don't understand field rushing What do you do once you're down on the field? Stand there with thousands of other people, with no breathing or elbow room. Fun. Would be as fun to me as heavy bumper to bumper traffic. I go the opposite way of crowds. I leave games and races a little early to AVOID the bulk of people that are there but that's just me.

This is what I've seen all over social media. A huge portion of this fan base is a giant collection of no class garbage.
There's a huge collection of the Tennessee fan base that's in that same class. I saw several when I went to the game.
In my opinion that player should have been suspended at the minimum. Most likely kicked off team and an assault charge. I don't think she should have been on the field but that is no excuse for his actions.
There are good and bad fans in every fan base.
I have saw Alabama play several teams and I have always been courteous to the opposing team.

I agree. It's a stupid tradition. No way I'd want to be in the middle of that.

Thank you for standing up for what's right. I'm sure there are others, but you are literally the only alabama fan I've seen on social media say this. Every other response I've read has been "she shouldn't have been there" or "she'll think twice about rushing the field next time".

Have you ever been to game where Bama wasn't the favorite?

It doesn't appeal to me either, but if you're in attendance of a game against a hated rival, and finally win a game in dramatic fashion; then if you want to soak in the full experience with other beaten-down fans, go for it.

I saw one of the TN lineman talking about his grandmother, who was in attendance. He said that if she wanted to get on the field, he would make it happen. Not positive, but I think he did.

Even if it's close? My dad is the same way, just to beat the traffic. He's missed some miracle comebacks over the years. There are countless wins that he didn't get to enjoy because of that mentality.

Yeah I'm not leaving until the game is over if there's a chance. If I'm that worried about traffic I'll stay home.

"Worried" about traffic is not the way I'd describe it. More like, I simply hate it. It's like getting wet from the rain. I'm not scared of the rain or afraid to get wet. I just don't like getting sopping wet if I don't have to. I don't go to tourist trap places for vacation either. And you'll never convince me that running onto a field for whatever reason, just to stand there, is worth it. No matter how big of a slump the team has been in and finally breaks out of it. It just seems retarded to me. Not my thing. It's not like I played in the game and did anything for them to win. I've competed in archery tournaments since I was 4 and have won on just about every stage and level of archery that there is. And even with me winning national level shoots, against the top shooters in the world, I didn't get that excited.

Then why did you do it, and why do you go to the games?

Do you clap at the games? Do you yell? Or are those "not your thing" either?

Actually, I don't do much of those, which is why I would rather watch from home. But, I certainly don't spew my opinion on how others enjoy the game.

I was at the game in 2005 when Bama won 6-3 on a last second field goal. Tennessee didn't have a 15 game winning streak but they owned Alabama. We didn't storm the field then but if everybody started running onto the field I guess I would have been in the middle of it.
I was young and dumb then.
I do think it's dangerous to storm the field and generally not a fan of it but from the stands it looked like they were having fun on field.
