Found this on a recent creek outing. Looks like it could be a tool or a weapon. Any ideas?

Looks like a grooved ax preform to me or maybe just half grooved intentionally. Nice find!

Seems like it could have been an axe or hammer and the groove is so you can put a stick in there and tie a string around it to hold it. Idk for sure though but that is my .02.
