Seed will last in the ground for a long, long time if it hasn't germinated. As long as you seed never germinated originally, it should germinate now. The worst thing that can happen is the seed gets just enough moisture to germinate, but then we experience a long period of drought conditions. That will kill the young plants quick.

As an example of how long seed can stay viable in the ground, I noticed this summer I had alyceclover germinating in my gravel driveway. I haven't used any alyceclover seed in 10 years.
 
thanks bsk! some have germinated already but the rest should come up now i hope! and maybe the fields will green back up again!
 
BSK,I was in Memphis yesterday,on the way back it was pouring at I 40 and hwy 13,got 1 " of rain at my place SE of LObellville,more was coming from the NW ,or toward your place/Cat hole when I left.Id say you got some.

Unfortunately, most of the rain missed my place. Only got 1/4" on Tuesday and not a drop on Wednesday. Rained hard within the county, but not at my place.

Long range models are looking good for Wednesday-Thursday of next week.

Looks like its not going to happen, atleast for the Memphis area. Channel 3 said it looks like our best chance is around 30th...but what do they know, right? lol
 
The models don't quite as good as they had, but still looks like some precip for west TN next Tuesday-Wednesday as a front comes through.

I don't put much faith in TV meteorologists. I just look at the models and make my own forecast.
