I've got a buddy on my lease who wants to do a minimal planting. He wants to just rake up the debris on an old logging road and toss out some seed maybe just to see what happens. It is a very shaded area.

Does anybody have a recommendation for what might grow under those conditions? Throw N Grow maybe? Any other suggestions. Thanks - I don't have enough knowledge to advise him.

probably something like throw and grow, although in the fall, wheat will about grow any where, that would be my recomendation, but wait for fall, gonna be hard in the summer to get anything, especially in the shade.

one more thing about wheat,I have had it grow in the woods, with no prep at all, just broadcast and fertilize around a stand.Green green green, but that was in the fall, heck wheat will grow in the back of your truck.
