question for boolit casters

a dude gave me a 50lb box of 40% tin sticks, they were originally use us seal up underground lead cable wraps

box label says 60/40, stamped into each stick is "40% TIN"

just what do I have?

It might make good plinking bullets. But for hunting bullets I'm thinking 40% tin would maybe make the bullets lighter than desired. Then there could be expansion issues.

You have what I want...LOL. Probably solder sticks.

Im not sure what the math is, but if you take 10lbs of your 60/40 alloy, giving you 6lbs lead and 4lbs tin and mix it with 74lbs of your lead it will give you 84lbs of your 20:1 alloy for your boolits (I think the math is right).

Will give you 1400 nice and shiny boolits in the end for your Sharps.
