Question about hawks

Where my inlaws and i live in maryville we have seen a hawk in out neighborhood. A couple of months ago it grabs a chicken next door to my inlaws. We all have small dogs and are worried that it may try to get them as they can go outside when they want. Is there anything we can do to keep the hawk away or have it relocated.

There is no "program" to relocate hawks. The only deterrent that I am aware of that works is netting over yards/pens.

My guess is that the dogs aren't in much danger from a hawk. Eagles, particularly golden eagles out west, can prey on some cats and dogs, but I've never heard of an issue with hawks.
