Quartering up a deer in Tennessee?

Just want to check if it is Legal to Quarter up a deer in the woods in Tennessee? Most of my spots on public land tend to be WAY WAY back in the woods with no access to an ATV.
Just checking before this season starts would make it a lot simpler then dragging.

However, it might be best to contact the WMA manager. I know some hunts they like to collect all the data they can. So, a quartered deer doesn't give the actual dressed weight.

Aside from all that, a quartered animal in the field is so much easier to deal with. Especially when you live in a neighborhood and a meat pole is not part of the HOA[emoji3]

As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with it but you would need to keep the genitals or antlers to identify the animal's gender.
Like the other post said though, scn would know for sure

You can quarter up a deer in TN unless it is on a WMA with regs requiring a whole animal to be brought to the check station. However, from the Manner and Means Proclamation 18-05:

Evidence of the animal's sex, species, and antlered status (if applicable) must remain with the
animal while afield.

You dont have to take both out. Legal to quarter (and go ahead and debone to save even more weight), then bring out the skull OR genitals in a ziplock baggie in with the meat. You dont have to bring both. They dont have to remain attached to a quarter as required in many states out west.

As SCN said, there are a few wmas that do require the whole animal to be removed, so check the specific regs for where you are hunting.
