I am wanting to trade or sale my ruger number 1 in 270. It is a red butt pad. Trying to figure out if it is a sporter or light sporter. Any ideas on value/ price?

Assuming good quality I would guess over $650.00. I came up with that number by checking Gunbroker. Just do a search on Ruger #1 270. As regards value I did not see any bids as of yet for any of them. Pretty guns, tho.

Thanks! I think I may get the numbers off if the gun and make a trip to Hastings and look at the blue book

The blue book is just someones guess. The only way to determine the value is to list the rifle on an auction site.
When was the last time you ever seen the blue book write a check for anything?
List of gunbrokers with a 14 day no reserve auction and you have everyone in the USA who is looking for a rifle like yours being able to bid on it.
