Prentice Cooper Hunting hours

Was at the Prentice Cooper WMA shooting range the other day and read the gate sign saying the gate closed at sunset and opens at sunrise. How does that work on big game hunts with wanting to be in your spot at daybreak and be able to retrieve deer shot late in the evening?

In the past I think they opened the gate at 5:30am. That may have changed though. The gate is alway open on the way out after dark.
Just call the number in the regulation manual for that area manager and they can give you better absolute information

Get opens automatically at 5:30 eastern time on days if the hunts. If trying to retrieve a deer after dark the gate stays open late and even if it shuts its only like a half gate. The area manager lives on site.
