Powder Load Question.....

If you were setting up a low-recoil load for a lady hunter, using Hornady or TC Shockwave 250gr bullets, Blackhorn 209 powder, and a TC Omega.....

Do you guys feel 70 grains would be too little to reach out effectively at 100 yards.

70 grains actual wt, according to BH209 load data, gives 1920 fps muzzle velocity with that bullet.

56 grains actual wt gave 1723 fps at the muzzle.

Should be more than enough if she can put it through the boiler room.

Most seem to forget that the buffalo were almost driven to extinction with 70 grs. of blackpowder.
