I just wanted to take a moment and tell Poleaxe how appreciative and thankful I am to him. I have been on here about 10 years now and although I don't post a lot I enjoy reading and looking. I got drew for the hiwassee bow hunt this year and I had never been there before. With work being crazy due to all the rain I only got to go one time and just for a couple hours to look around. Honestly I was totally lost on this place. I post on here a question about the area. I got a few replies with areas to go and was thankful to those guys for responding and trying to help me out. Then I get a message from John to give him a call. I have never met him in person and had never talked to him before. I called him and we talked for a while. This guy went above and beyond to help out some dude he didn't know. Talked to me about different places and how to get to them and how the deer would move. Also hooked me up with his friend Brian who let me hunt with him. Another great guy by the way. Poleaxe put me on the deer. He was so knowledgeable of the area. Everything he told me was exactly as described. 2 deer on Friday morning but didn't get to hunt long. Went back yesterday and had them all over me. 2 really nice bucks and countless other deer. Didn't kill any but not for lack of seeing any. I just wanted everyone to know what this man did for someone he didn't know. It's unusual these days to me at least when it comes to deer hunting for people to do what he did. I hope someday I can repay the favor to John and Brian. But best of all I feel I have made 2 great friends because of this site and 1 little question. John, thanks again buddy. I won't forget it.

John is very good guy! He had put me on deer countless times, from not knowing me from Adam and taking me on juvi hunt when I had
No one to take me, to us sitting side by side in same tree, to us doubling up on big longbeards this past springs. John always point you were the animals are that's for sure. Awesome guy

He has a giant heart and really loves to help people. He has put me on um at the refuge "killed 2" one evening and some of his private land honey holes. He is GOOD FRIEND FOR SURE. And we have shared great times.

It was great to get hunt with you this past weekend. I had a great time hopefully we can do it again sometime soon. Your are spot on with John he is a great guy and has became a close friend over the past couple of hunting seasons. I reached out to him for some help on the refuge just as you did, he has helped me alot without wanting anything in return, and I truly believe with his shared knowledge I have became a much better hunter. I think when I shot that buck Friday morning he was just as excited as me, we were both pretty bummed when I couldn't find it. He's also promised me he's going to make a turkey hunter out of me in which I have no doubt he will, I can't wait until this spring.

John is a pretty good dude. His son, my cousin's son, and mine all got drawn for the Refuge juvenile hunt last year. He showed us a bunch of places to hunt. We camped that weekend, and all three juvies killed a deer. My son had a blast that weekend and still talks about it.

Brian, I had a blast. I hope we can to and it was awesome of you to let me go with you. Thank you for that and all you done also. My wife was texting me on Friday checking on me cause she was scared that I was leaving home at 2 am to go meet some guys that I met on the internet. She asked me "what if they are serial killers." I told her I was worth more dead that alive just to spend it wisely. Hahaha. I texted her when we was leaving and told her I escaped the serial killers and that she was right. Lol. I told john about it and he said to be sure to let you know.

That is wonderful. What a great story and kind deed. That's what it's all about!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Each lending hand creates memories for these people. Most people guard their hunting spots like Fort Knox. I've always said be lending and happy with others success and be thankful when the opportunity is given to you. If it's meant for us to shoot that monster then God will give. That same consideration creates friendships that no doubt that if ever I need help will be payed back. Why stingyness follows most deer hunters I'll never understand. Most of us had people to help guide us in the begining so why not do it for others?
