Pheasant and its Date with Death

These pictures popped up in my Facebook Memories today. Taken exactly 12 years ago today, in South Dakota, note that I somehow managed to actually capture the shot string enroute on its deadly mission. Milliseconds later, the result. Sometimes I'd rather be lucky than good.

Always wanted to do a Pheasant hunt, lived in Mi when I was a kid but wasn't old enough to hunt them, I was used as the retriever, I stayed a wet and muddy mess. Didn't much care for that job back then, was given a young bird dog puppy that grew into a really good bird dog, came home from school and it was replaced by a flock of chickens for me and $$ in step dads pocket

That is a amazing series of pictures that tell the whole story, I would bet not many better pictures are out there, lot of things have to be just right to capture those images.
