Pellets or Powder

Powder. Burns more efficient, more accurate measurements, no worry about crushing a pellet, and a whole lot cheaper.

Been both ways....no measurable difference in my case, so I go with pellets. A bit more costly, but I like easy!

Powder for me. Can't get pellets for the loads I shoot out of my rifles. The little .40 longrifle likes 35 grs. of 3f Goex for squirrels/rabbits and 70 grs. of 3f Goex for deer. The .50 likes 70 grs. of 2f Swiss and the .54 likes 90 grs. of Goex Cartridge Grade. Plus powder is alot cheaper.

Currently using pellets but have bought 3 cans of powder on clearance from last season and plan on using it this year to see if i can tweak the groups a little better by tweaking the powder, something that is a little difficult with pellets.

I have shot both but prefer loose powder. Both a friend and myself had trouble with pellets not burning corretly and got to see the pellets flying thru the air like roman candles. My misfire happened at the range and his happened when shooting at a deer. He missed the deer due to his problem and my bullet never even hit the target when I shot. We both got rid of our pellets and have never regretted the decision.

powder...the thought of a pellet breaking and my load sitting different in the rifleing drives me nuts. Im OCD I guess.

either will work fine if you load the pellets correctly & not crush them,have seen others at the range packing pellets,cant do that & need your ramrod marked so you seat them properly in a fouled barrel,my optima loves pellets,im going to keep feeding it :)

I never figured out how you would break a pellet until I watched a guy load his ML. He didn't push the rod down, he was tamping it like a post hole and couldn't figure out why he was having trouble. Pellets for me.

I shot about 30 rounds this morning, working up a loose load of 777 to replace the pellets I had been using. Pellets always leave a crud ring in my barrell, but the loose powder cleans up great with a slightly damp (water) patch. Good accruacy, too.

I shot 40 times in the last two days using both since the debate seems to rage. I can tell you i can tell no appreciable difference in either and for the convenience i will now shoot pellets and never question it again. My mind is made up and i am a pellet man. too convenient and not worth the hassle of the loose powder.

i see no hassle with loose powder and i can buy a pound of powder for what 15 or 20 shots with pellets cost.
