This "Old 10" is one of the big bucks I've been hunting since September. Had him within bow range this morning with a gun in hand and let him walk not knowing which deer he actually was. Saw 9 points when looking through the range finder. It's not easy seeing detail of antlers while a deer is walking through the woods too. Even with good optics. I'm kinda new at that.

Didnt know it was Old 10 until checking the trail cam this afternoon. Couldnt believe it was the same deer. He broke a brow tine while fighting I assume.

Pic on the left is from this past week and the pic on the right is from late September. He was walking with another buck this morning. First time I've seen two bucks traveling together since October.

it happens no worries i'd say you'll get another chance.especially if he came in that close and you didnt get winded.

I usually check them out thru the scope, especially that close. :D

I usually check them when I get down to drag them out...course I don't discriminate on rack size though :tu: . Still season left to get him, good luck.

Never go deer hunting without binoculars around your neck :)
True true. I bought a nice Nikon pair this year and opted to just use the range finder instead. The binos are not an easy assecory to bring when you're using a climber. They barely fit in my pocket.

Get a binocular harness — they ride on your chest, easy to grab and use in a split second. I struggled with binoculars for years until I got one — one of best $25 I've spent for hunting accessories.
