My brother just picked up an older Optima 50 cal. and wondering what any of you who shoot them uses for a load? I have a 45 encore so not to familiar with the 50 cal bullets/sabots. I already told him I use only blackhorn and barnes bullets in mine so blackhorn is going to be his powder choice and he will need a new breech plug more than likely. This is his 1st ML so just trying to find a good starting point.
 
This is what my Optima likes.

105 gr of triple 7 and 300gr sst.
3 shots at 100 yds touching. clean after 3 shots.
 
I just switched over to BH209.

100gr powder
300g Hornady SST

Shot fantastic.

I ran a brush attachment through my bore every 3 shots.
