I'll add my teriyaki recipe in case you want to try something different.
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped pineapples and juice (i use my kid's pineapple fruit cups lol)
1/4 cup water
1 tsp each of garlic and ginger powder
1 tsp siracha sauce
1tsp cornstarch mixed with water to thicken
mix and heat in saucepan until lightly reduced and thickened. I typically reserve a 1/4 cup for marinade, and another 1/4 cup for basting while grilling. The rest is dipping sauce.
