Been a tender member for over 17 years. Last year bought some property and started a farm and started running a little cattle while managing my apple block and honey bees. Early on discovered a tree stand on the back of property by a wood line where deer frequent. Told the neighbors if owner of stand wanted it, to come get it as it was a nice buddy type stand. No word!....not till farm is operational does the guy call wanting his stand. Now, being a hunter myself I understand but I have over 100,000.00 in equipment inside barn, I said no. Am I wrong?

I definitely see your side of the story, but if wasn't the same guy you told to come get it, I'd offer to take it down and let him pick it up from you. The owner of the stand may not have gotten word from the neighbors in a timely manner.

Even if the neighbor is the one who owned the stand, I'd still help him get it. I wouldn't want to piss off the neighbors and be wondering if hey we're going to be out to get you.

And... I'm just a nice guy. :D I wouldn't want something on my land that doesn't belong to me.

I would get it back to him. Take the high road. It's the right thing to do regardless of his faults.

I would give it back if its possible.Just because he's likely to stay off your land if he feels your a nice guy.if you make an enemy with the neighbor it might come back to haunt you.But i would say you have the right to keep it legally though.Just my 2 cents
