I'd venture to bet they won't be brushed as well as yall would brush them. I suppose time will tell though.

I just hope what ever company they hire to build the blinds and brush them are hunters. I can only imagine if they hire the cheapest bidder with no experience building or brushing blinds. You will end up with very minimal bursh. Also they will probably put on any type of limbs they can. Cane, maple, pine or whatever. Most hunters know almost nothing will last but Oak.

I was told, and it was from a good source that the company is out of East TN and has never so much as laid eyes on any of the bottoms west of the TN river, and not many on the other side.

Lol that would be a logistical nightmare but if it's a company that has zero connections to the outdoors and none of the employees really hunt then I don't doubt they have no clue what they got themselves into

If this is true (depending on what the working definition of "a good source" is these days) the people in charge of crews doing the work at least hunt a lease out of state.

Employees wouldn't necessarily have to be hunters. They are building blinds to spec, welding experience...yes, hunting experience...no. Now, as to brushing a blind...that's a different matter.

I have no doubt most contractors could build a blind to spec. Getting it built in the middle of a swamp a mile from dry ground could be a different story. Especially at Tigrett, you are not getting any equipment in there to work. You are lucky to get a boat any wider then 48 inches to the spot A4 will be built. You are also going to have to jump a 3-4 ft tall beaver damn depends on how low the water is. Also you have no choice but to use a good mud motor and boat. You will not make it 10ft on that side of the bottoms with a outboard this time of year.

That was in reference to knowing the locations. If none of the employees have ever stepped foot on these places then chances are they will be in for a surprise getting these things in there. Yes brushing is also another concern

Yup and that's exactly what I was referring to as in logistical nightmare if none of the employees have ever seen what it takes to get into these places

I will also say that I was told by an individual with a different construction company that but a bid in to build the blinds. I won't say the amount of his bid just to not identify him, but his bid was significantly lower to build and brush the blinds. TWRA did not accept his much lower bid, instead the went with the bid that was the exact price they said during their meetings. $30k. Shame he didn't get it, he was at least familiar with the wma's around here.

Be interesting to see how this East TN crew gets A4 built

We had one brushed in Hickory a couple of years ago, it held up surprisingly well.

Yea for $30,000 you're knocking on the door of something more then metal siding and trex decking
 
So sounds like the whole bidding process was just for show. That deal was made before they even passed the change. Gah TWRA so crooked. Do t surprise me though.
