Where at all possible I wish everyone would employ the floater strategy like half have at Gooch. I know at Tigrett it wouldn't be feasible but would be at Camden and Reelfoot in most places. This would cut down on the leeches that want to hunt 5 or 6 days out of the 60 day season.

Absolutely. I would love to know how many applied for Tigrett based solely on the fact it has all permanent blinds Think they nearly doubled last year from their usual draw numbers.

People hunting Tigrett may have to develop a bolt together blind they can haul out right after season to cut down on the out of area folks wanting a blind. If they can't drive to draw, they aren't going to drive to build and brush.

They hope so cause they were supposed to be all new THIS year but what can you expect when everything from the get go of project Cluster Duck was not thought out.
Sorry but your statement is not accurate. They also will have a few floating blinds. Not sure where they will be used though

Are you saying twra didn't say they would have their Tier 2 Taj Mahals built and in place for duck season 2021-2022. Honest question, I've tried to rewatch the meetings and such but my cell service is horrible on the mountain.

I think he was trying to say that all Tier 2 blinds would not be new blinds. Maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yea now I'm confused. I thought they said tier 2 were going to be Taj Mahal blinds. I don't know if he took me saying "all new" as in tier 2 and 3 would be new but I was referring to the Project Cluster Duck's Airbnb for $30,000

I think the plan is or was to only build a new blind if the current blind in that location needs to be replaced. Or maybe replace a few at a time, but not all of the blind in tier 2 and 3.

Tier #3 isn't supposed to have any TWRA-built blinds. The "might have a blind" refers to previous construction from when they used to be season-long. Ultimately, Tier 3's will all become stakes in the water, like a lot of the draws here in the East.

That's what I thought I heard, I know they were supposed to build like 43 tier 2 blinds and the blinds on tier 3 would slowly become stake blinds. What I'm confused about is did they say the tier 2 blinds would all be done before 2021-2022 waterfowl season

They did say that all tier 2 blinds were going to be built before this upcoming season. I think they now realize they can't back that up and are back tracking on it.

That is what I am saying...I was at the meeting and that was what I understood since then. Confirmed by the agency

total of 42 tier 2 blinds. Agency executed a two year contract, plan is to build 27 this year plus 4 floaters as back up. They picked 15 good ones to leave this year. However all will be brushed and ready as well as functional for a enjoyable hunting experience. This is pretty much a direct quote from TWRA. Good luck to all involved. Hope people will be willing to at least give it a try

I really am curious where they plan on getting enough brush for that many blinds! I know we usually have trouble getting enough for 2-3 blinds each year.

Seeing how there is constant logging on state forrests shouldn't be terribly difficult for them.

What if they can't get a back up floater to one that happens to get struck by lightning?
