Ha! I had a very similar situation. There was a black Bell Jet Ranger II hovering over my pond at midnight using a spotlight. It was black and I could only tell it was a Jet Ranger by that unmistakable rotor sound. He was actually spotlighting my deer. He flew off and the next day I saw him flying along the railroad tracks. Probably a CSX or Tennessee Southern chopper.
