Anyone attending the National Taxidermy Ass. competition this month in Gatlinburg?

Im going, looks like some good seminars will be presented and the competition will be tough. Im entering a customers whitetail shoulder mount in the professional division. Maybe next year I will have time to focus on a comp piece with habitat.

This summer was the first time ever for me to compete. I entered two customer deer heads in the TN show and got a 2nd place on each head, not bad for commercial work. This will be my first NTA show so Im excited to see how it goes.

I thought about going. I was going to the Texas convention a couple of weeks ago, but I had a medical procedure performed the week before that took a lot more out of me we were expecting.

I'd still love to go, but we're short staffed at work and it's hard enough to get off during the summer when we're staffed correctly. I've got some time off I. late Aug I guess I need to stick with.

I'm excited for you about competing.
