I messed around for what ever reason , and just got my Hawkins and Cherokee out today for a few shoots before Saturday . Shots where all over the place. I tried going up and down with the powder charge but nothing helped , I was using a 445 patched round ball with pillow ticking . Like I always have , not sure what has went wrong but there's no way I can go Saturday if I don't get it worked out soon, very aggravated at this point . Oh and to top it off I dry loaded the Cherokee , but was able to take the nipple out and get enough powder in there to get it out . What a day ! Lol

IMO it could be one of two things - one powder has gotten damp or two it could be one of those days we all get every so often, thank goodness, just ain't your day ( we all have them wether we will admitt it or not). Don't let it get in your head the next time shooting cause if its not been broke then it will work.

I went and practiced this afternoon as well. My first shot was about 4 inches right of where it should have been. The next three were right on target, I must have pulled off on the first one.

With the time change and it getting dark at 5:00 now that sure cuts into target practice.

i wish I had your trouble , at 100 yards I coundnt keep them on a 2x2 target , it was like buckshot except I only had one hole , I was using .445 round balls I believe I was using .440 , before I ran out . going to pic them up tomorrow and try again . Later in the week
