Got to the Steamplant, motor started on 8th pull, we go to the "No Wake" bouy at the mouth of the cove, and the motor died. After several pulls, cleaning the sparkplugs, dropping the plug wrench into the lake, etc, I checked the fuel filter and it was milky white. Spent most of an hour trying to siphon out the dirty fuel and finally decided to go home for leftover Christmas goodies and a nap. Maybe next time.

Well, dangit jake! I had already bought the popcorn, too! :D

I thought about going today, but I figured the water would be muddy and rolling, not good visibility for the jacks. So what did the water look like?

It was pretty murky, but I've seen it worse. It was 49.5 degrees at Fli[ppers; last time I was at the steamplant it was about 60 degrees in the mouth of the channel.

I think I'll go hunting tomorrow, then I'll be out of town till the 31st. I'll probably try fishing again the 31st or 1st. Gonna just buy a new tank and hose unit and mix up some fresh gas. (25 HP Mercury, still on original tank & hose. I think the water got in through a crack in the hose, since it wouldn?t suck in the gas after I cleaned the fuel filter.)
