Never seen him before. The camera is on a random trail so he's probably not "new" just hasn't walked in front of the camera yet. Sorry for the screen pic. I didn't have my laptop or spare memory cards, but we were shed hunting nearby and my buddy had his laptop so we checked it.


I'll try to get the real picture so you can see it better. I'm glad I got his picture. That makes two good ones on that place and then I have one pretty good one on an area of public land I killed my six point this year. The only other big one I had supposedly was killed.

I noticed that too. I really hope I find his antlers. I honestly have no idea how big he is. He doesn't appear to be wide, but that really doesn't even matter but just a couple inches in terms of score.

The coolest thing is this is the first 4.5+ deer I've gotten on camera in daylight post season. Probably has a lot to do with the setup of the camera (funnel going into pine thicket)
 


Here's the real pic. I don't trust screen pics after posting this. He looks a little bigger to me in the first picture I posted. Still probably a high 130's eight point as long as the other side isn't a bunch of really short tines.

how can you tell the width on a side view pic? Anyway I wouldn't worry about score so much as I would trying to kill him. Looks like a very big and symmetrical 8 pt. Not much character, but the size and symmetry make it unique, so I guess it's character in its own way. Hope you find one of the sheds and maybe get a chance at him this fall.

I'll take a pretty racked deer over a deer unique with character any day. He also may be wide. It just looks like the ends of the main beams are close to each other, but they are so long they probably are just curved together. It'll take a lot of luck to get him. We found two other big bucks sheds during bow season in that area. One is a different massive eight with short tines and the other is a big eight too. I don't think the shed is the trail camera deer because their G2's are very different.
