I have hunted this same lease for 14 years, I have never run a camera on it during deer season. I ran cams during turkey season this past spring, so I put new batteries and cards in two weeks ago and will be checking them Sunday. I shot a great 9 point 2 years ago, and missed the deer of a lifetime last year on this place. I really WANT to see whats there, but fear Ill become obsessed with killing a giant if I get one on camera.

Ill post up whatever I get next week.

Your fear is exactly what happened to me once I started running cameras . But it makes you more patient and not feel as bad for letting that young 8 point walk etc .. I can honestly say I would not have let as many young bucks walk the last few years without them , and probably wouldn't have killed any mature bucks either .

What a letdown yesterday, three cards pulled, very few deer, in fact, I had more coyote pics than deer. Two very small bucks, one bobcat a couple turkeys. At least no poachers this time. I moved one camera to a trail Ive never monitored, maybe I will find bigfoot, you never know.

Don't let it get to you at all you "monitoring" a very small area with those cameras the deer have to walk in front of it to get a picture I'm not a fan of trail cameras at all. Into you're better off not running them but I would not be discouraged at all by not getting pictures.

What were your cameras watching?
