I need to find a gunsmith pretty close to Paris. I broke the dang bead off my shotgun during turkey season and need a new one put on before dove season opens in Sept.Really Ive got two that need beads! LOL I sure do miss Custom Arms being in McKenzie! :(

WHMc in humboldt, unless its a mossberg. he says he dont work on no mossbergs. last i heard the guy at custom arms only does work for gander in jackson.

Get you some of those Hi-Viz fiber optic sights that fasten to the rib. I have them on two of my Remingtons and they are WAY better than a plain bead.

What shotguns do you need to have repaired?

Yea he sold out his shop and went to work for Gander. Man I hate it too...he sure was a good feller. Naw it aint a Mossberg....its a Browning silver! LOL
Grizz.....Ive got one of those on my 870 and like it...but everytime I take it out of my case it slides off the end.

Mine fit so tight I have to use a knife to get it off. Maybe we have different ones.

Mine has a plastic sleeve that snaps over the rib, then you slide the metal sight sleeve over the plastic sleeve. I have to use a knife or screwdriver edge to slide it back off. It's tight.

Mine aint that tight on the rib. I wish it was! Ive got a HI-VIZ screw in on my over and under and like it a lot.It fits in the bead threads. No problems with ;)it.

Frank Elliot at WHMc Guns in Humboldt.
He's worked on a Mossberg for me in the past.
He has a seperate phone number than Walter's shop. It's
important that you talk to him directly (Frank) to find out what he will and won't work on.
I can't find Frank's # right now, but I'll get it if you want.

I tried one of the add on beads that had a couple of set screws to keep it on the rib. It held tight and was really bright, but I never could get my point of aim right with it. Seems like I remember it shot about a foot high at 30 yards. I would up going back to a factory white bead.

Good luck, Bob Mason at Dowdle Sporting Goods is closed until July 18th. Turn around time for a rebarrel was 8-10 weeks........
