Naming your bucks

Bullwinkle, freak nasty, ooger booger, and Wee Willie were my target bucks this year. Last year it was Bob
Lunch, dinner, sausage, steaks, burger
My daughter names them all "Nachos"
Nope. Kinda cringey to me. But to each their own.
No, I killed a buck a few years back that someone else had pics of and had named him. He confronted me about killing his buck. If I named a buck and a chance at killing him I would probably feel bad about it after naming him like a pet. LOL..........

All of em are named BOB. Big Old Buck.
The 3 on my wall are Bob, Bill, and Junior. (Big ole buck, Taxidermy bill, and Bob Jr.). Did that for the grandkids.

We don't name them per se but call them something that maybe defines a feature so we'll know which buck is seen and / or killed vs what we have on camera. Wide 8, basketball buck, fat ba$tard, etc.

90% of the time, no. The big shooters, and especially the ones with unique characteristics, yes. Mainly because we own a larger tract of land and see deer from one year to the next, typically. The tv shows go silly, definitely not like them. But if we have a really big 8 pt or a big 10 pt, they are named "the big 8" or "the wide 10". We did have one the last 2 years that had a lot of palmation and we named him "moose". A lot of folks go silly with it

We name the ones we have harvested. We have Slim Shady, Kevin, Rambo, Jeffery Epstein, Tank, & Warren.
