I'm starting this thread for a west-side sandhill gathering. I only found one dude that would guide last year, so if we can get a group together, we can probably work out a nice morning sometime in January. I'll edit this main post as a "head count" for those that wish to join in. I would plan on a weekday morning gathering in Martin, TN and head out from there. I'll stay in touch with the guide I used last year to pull something together.

Yeah I wish I would have had something like this last year when Man and I got drawn.
Good luck to everyone that goes.

Any more talk of getting a group together?

You're the only update, Dodge Man!

My neighbor's friend said he got drawn for a tag. I'll find out his information and see if he's interested. So far, I've been waiting on some more TNDeer interest before calling the guide back again.

Thanks for the update, GadFather. It looks like we have a group of (5) so far. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

FYI it would be fairly easy to kill several up around hop-in if you were able to obtain permission. There are lots feeding in the cut corn fields northwest of the refuge right up to several water breaks that would make a good hide.

Yes, that's where we'll be. The guide pretty well has permission on a lot of that acreage, as well as his own hilltop blind set up for snows.

Irrelevant to you guys, but hopefully it will get your hopes up. This cold front pushed tons of cranes down through middle TN yesterday. I finished work early and spent the afternoon outdoors and saw flock after flock flying over Maury County.

Sunday I saw flock after flock of Sandhills flying over my hose in West TN. I am hoping some stop in to some fields close by and hang around.
