MZ kills down

Well it was breezy but the deer moved yesterday morning in the East. Besides kills in general being down so are the pics. Last night I was looking and the only kill posted on Tndeer was a juvi girl and I assume it was a ml kill.

I hunted half the day yesterday and never saw a deer. I have 12 cell cameras out and I got zero daylight pictures yesterday. I didn't get the first deer picture until 2 hours after sunset. The deer just didn't move in my area yesterday.

I sat all day. 3 does early and a buck right at last light. No deer on camera. Glad I don't listen to my cameras. Last couple years have shown me how much they truly miss.

Looking at data, wow some E TN counties stand out big time. Top 20 counties. Roane was slamming the bucks yesterday. More bucks killed then every other county's total but Cumberland.

Roane county is full of dear. I haven't had time to bow or ML hunt. Will be out opening day of gun no matter what.

FACT! I was in my stand Thursday morning for a few hours.
Had 8 does at different times and 4 different bucks within 10 yds of my stand and only 2 does showed up my two cameras.
One camera is 15 yds from my stand and the other is 30 yds away.

Took me a long time to realize how little they actually pick up. Had a deer walk right in front of one on the juvenile hunt and never got a picture. Told my wife this morning I could have 10 cameras out where I hunt and miss them.

Lots of reasons harvest is down - warm, windy weather, rain in areas, big football game, reduced deer movement due to weather, etc.

I only hunted yesterday afternoon. Saw nothing, but did capture a nice buck on cell cam at the stand I decided not to hunt.

Trying it again this afternoon.

Have to also account for cwd zone counties opening up rifle on the Monday before the statewide muzzleloader opened.
Good point. I assume any kills from those counties would fall under gun.

Even still the numbers seem drastically lower.

In Smith county the hunting was the worst it has been on MZ weekend that I have experienced. I heard very few shots Saturday and Sunday mornings. And zero sightings from the stand. I have never been skunked on opening weekend.

Trail cameras tell the same story. Very few photos of deer - does or bucks. Significant drop off from the previous week.

I was in Tellico Village Monday. Holly crap that place is full of deer!

Beautiful buck ran across the road.
